BHSUK Alumni Chapter

PresidentDear Readers,

This is the home page of the BHS Alumni Association UK/Europe. We are a charitable organisation dedicated to supporting our alma mater, the Bishops' High School, in Georgetown, Guyana, South America.

The Chapter was inaugurated in December 1988. This date marked the culmination of groundwork begun in 1986 by Barbara Sinclair and a small group of fellow alumni some of whom had attended the second International Reunion of BHS Alumni in Toronto that year. This small group was unanimous in their desire to establish another source of international support on which the alma mater could draw.

The BHS Old Students Association (BHSOSA), based in Guyana, has been running for many decades. There are various international Chapters of this organisation in New York, Washington DC, Toronto, California, Trinidad, Jamaica, Barbados and London. The establishment of these international Chapters has enhanced the quality and quantity of support from which the Guyana alma mater continues to benefit. In 2006, The UK Chapter has financed a Student Record Information System.

The chapters also foster kinship and support of alumni. International reunions are held every three years, either in Guyana or in one of the countries where a Chapter is based.

Thank you for visiting our website..

Sincerely,

Alison Tyndall

"... we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure! It is our Light, not our darkness, that frightens us. We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented and fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small doesn't serve the world... ".
